1. Our approach to refunds

AIDI is a community and education organisation. Many of our activities are funded through grants, donations and low-cost fees. We aim to be fair, transparent and responsible with all payments and refunds.

This Refund Policy explains when you may be entitled to a refund for payments made to AIDI for events, programmes, services or donations.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to payments made directly to AIDI through our website, by bank transfer, or in person, including:

- Event tickets and registrations
- Training, workshops and educational programmes
- Memberships, subscriptions and plans
- Community activities and services with a fee
- Donations made in error

3. Event tickets and registrations

3.1 Cancellations by you

If you can no longer attend an event or activity you have paid for:

- Please contact us as soon as possible at admin@africairish.com.
- Where you cancel at least 7 calendar days before the event start date, we will normally offer either:
  - A full refund, or
  - A transfer of your booking to a similar future event (if available).
- Where you cancel less than 7 calendar days before the event, refunds are not guaranteed. We may, at our discretion, offer a partial refund or transfer, depending on costs already incurred.

3.2 Cancellations or changes by AIDI

If AIDI cancels an event or programme that you have paid for, you will be offered:

- A full refund of the amount paid, or
- The option to transfer your booking to a rescheduled or similar event, where possible.

If an event is postponed, we will contact you with new dates. If you cannot attend the new date, you may request a refund.

4. Programmes, courses and services

For longer programmes, courses or services (for example, multi-week training or mentoring):

- If you cancel before the programme starts, we will usually offer a full or partial refund, depending on any non-refundable costs already incurred (such as venue or materials).
- If you cancel after the programme has started, refunds will normally be limited to the unused portion of the programme fee, minus any costs already incurred.
- In some cases, instead of a refund, we may offer a credit or transfer to a future programme.

Details for specific programmes may be set out in the joining information you receive at registration. Where there is a conflict, those specific terms will apply.

5. Memberships, subscriptions and plans

If you purchase a membership, subscription or plan through our website:

- You may usually cancel future renewals at any time through your account or by contacting us.
- Refunds for the current billing period are not guaranteed and will depend on the nature of the plan and how much of it has already been used.
- Where required by Irish or EU consumer law, we will honour any applicable cooling-off periods for online purchases.

6. Donations

We are very grateful for all donations that support our work.

- Donations are generally non-refundable.
- If you believe you have made a donation in error (for example, an incorrect amount or duplicate payment), please contact us within 14 calendar days at admin@africairish.com with details of the transaction. We will review your request and respond as soon as possible.

7. Non-refundable items

Unless we are required to do so by law, we do not normally offer refunds for:

- Completed events, sessions or services you have already attended or received
- Missed sessions where you did not attend and did not notify us in advance
- Administrative or processing fees clearly stated as non-refundable
- Any third-party costs we cannot recover (for example, travel or accommodation booked by you)

8. How refunds are paid

Where a refund is approved:

- Refunds will usually be made using the same method you used to make the original payment (for example, card, bank transfer or online payment).
- We aim to process approved refunds within 14 calendar days.
- Any bank or payment provider charges may be deducted where applicable and where permitted by law.

9. Financial hardship and special circumstances

AIDI works with diverse communities and understands that circumstances can change.

If you are facing financial hardship or exceptional circumstances, please contact us. We will review your situation sensitively and may offer flexible options, such as payment plans, transfers or partial refunds.

10. Your legal rights

Nothing in this Refund Policy affects your statutory rights under Irish or EU consumer protection law.
