1. Our approach to refunds
Â
AIDI is a community and education organisation. Many of our activities are funded through grants, donations and low-cost fees. We aim to be fair, transparent and responsible with all payments and refunds.
Â
This Refund Policy explains when you may be entitled to a refund for payments made to AIDI for events, programmes, services or donations.
Â
2. Scope of this policy
Â
This policy applies to payments made directly to AIDI through our website, by bank transfer, or in person, including:
Â
- Event tickets and registrations Â
- Training, workshops and educational programmes Â
- Memberships, subscriptions and plans Â
- Community activities and services with a fee Â
- Donations made in error Â
Â
3. Event tickets and registrations
Â
3.1 Cancellations by you
Â
If you can no longer attend an event or activity you have paid for:
Â
- Please contact us as soon as possible at admin@africairish.com. Â
- Where you cancel at least 7 calendar days before the event start date, we will normally offer either: Â
  - A full refund, or Â
  - A transfer of your booking to a similar future event (if available). Â
- Where you cancel less than 7 calendar days before the event, refunds are not guaranteed. We may, at our discretion, offer a partial refund or transfer, depending on costs already incurred.
Â
3.2 Cancellations or changes by AIDIÂ
Â
If AIDI cancels an event or programme that you have paid for, you will be offered:
Â
- A full refund of the amount paid, or Â
- The option to transfer your booking to a rescheduled or similar event, where possible.
Â
If an event is postponed, we will contact you with new dates. If you cannot attend the new date, you may request a refund.
Â
4. Programmes, courses and services
Â
For longer programmes, courses or services (for example, multi-week training or mentoring):
Â
- If you cancel before the programme starts, we will usually offer a full or partial refund, depending on any non-refundable costs already incurred (such as venue or materials). Â
- If you cancel after the programme has started, refunds will normally be limited to the unused portion of the programme fee, minus any costs already incurred. Â
- In some cases, instead of a refund, we may offer a credit or transfer to a future programme.
Â
Details for specific programmes may be set out in the joining information you receive at registration. Where there is a conflict, those specific terms will apply.
Â
5. Memberships, subscriptions and plans
Â
If you purchase a membership, subscription or plan through our website:
Â
- You may usually cancel future renewals at any time through your account or by contacting us. Â
- Refunds for the current billing period are not guaranteed and will depend on the nature of the plan and how much of it has already been used. Â
- Where required by Irish or EU consumer law, we will honour any applicable cooling-off periods for online purchases.
Â
6. Donations
Â
We are very grateful for all donations that support our work.
Â
- Donations are generally non-refundable. Â
- If you believe you have made a donation in error (for example, an incorrect amount or duplicate payment), please contact us within 14 calendar days at admin@africairish.com with details of the transaction. We will review your request and respond as soon as possible.
Â
7. Non-refundable items
Â
Unless we are required to do so by law, we do not normally offer refunds for:
Â
- Completed events, sessions or services you have already attended or received Â
- Missed sessions where you did not attend and did not notify us in advance Â
- Administrative or processing fees clearly stated as non-refundable Â
- Any third-party costs we cannot recover (for example, travel or accommodation booked by you)
Â
8. How refunds are paid
Â
Where a refund is approved:
Â
- Refunds will usually be made using the same method you used to make the original payment (for example, card, bank transfer or online payment). Â
- We aim to process approved refunds within 14 calendar days. Â
- Any bank or payment provider charges may be deducted where applicable and where permitted by law.
Â
9. Financial hardship and special circumstances
Â
AIDI works with diverse communities and understands that circumstances can change.
Â
If you are facing financial hardship or exceptional circumstances, please contact us. We will review your situation sensitively and may offer flexible options, such as payment plans, transfers or partial refunds.
Â
10. Your legal rights
Â
Nothing in this Refund Policy affects your statutory rights under Irish or EU consumer protection law.
